The Nyingma (ancient) school of Tibetan or Vajrayana Buddhism was founded in the eighth century by the great enlightened Indian tantric master Padmasambhava, "the second Buddha," and is the oldest of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism (Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, and Gelugpa). Its teachings, transmissions and lineage of enlightened masters have continued unbroken to this day. EBS offers the Nyingma teachings that were given to us by our teachers who represent Lama Tharchin Rinpoche's center, the Vajrayana Foundation. We have received teachings over the last seven years from Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe Wangmo, and Lama Thupten Tulku. |

Nyingma Teachings - NgondroEBS offers a regular 10 A.M. Sunday morning practice with primary focus on the Ngondro practices. Ngondro is a compilation of the essence of many prayers which takes one from the preliminary practices all the way through the highest practices of this lineage. In this way, one completes the entire Vajrayana path in one meditation session. On the first Sunday of each month, we offer an in-depth explanation of the meaning and the "how-to's" of doing the Ngondro practice. Anyone is welcome to join us or simply sit in meditation and enjoy the chanting. For more information: email Charlotte Besch - cabesch@midsouth.ualr.edu |
