| Keido Fukushima Roshi returned to Arkansas to conduct
the EBS 11th annual Zen Meditation Retreat. The retreat was held at Camp Mitchell on Petit
Jean Mountain near Morrilton. It began with registration at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 9, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and a public talk by Roshi at 7 p.m. People attended from Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Florida. A total of 52 people were at this year's retreat. The retreat continued through the noon meal on Sunday, February 11, 2001. In the course of the retreat, Roshi gave four (4) teishos or Zen talks. There was chanting and sitting and walking meditation during this 3-day silent retreat.
